EasyGreen^® Program from JCP&L

Sign up for EasyGreen^® a new energy management program from JCP&L.

In addition to participation incentives, EasyGreen may save you up to $60 a year. The level of savings depends on your individual electric use and on a variety of factors, such as the number of central air conditioning units you enroll.

When activated, EasyGreen^® manages your central air conditioner with a sensor connected to your outdoor air conditioning unit and a sensor that plugs into an outlet near your thermostat, inside your house. It helps reduce your electric use during the hottest days of the year, while operating within your chosen program level.

Most of the time, EasyGreen will not be managing your central air conditioner. On the 10 to 20 hottest days, when regional energy consumption is high, or during peak load emergencies, your central air conditioner will be managed by JCP&L. There is NO additional cost to you to participate! EasyGreen is already included in the JCP&L Electric Rates. Only your agreement to participate is required.

Comfort Program - This program enables you to lower your electric bill by up to $60 per year. On the 10 to 20 hot days a year, or during emergencies, EasyGreen will allow the temperature in your house to rise no more than 6° F. above the the house temperature at the time EasyGreen began to manage your central air conditioner. The system will be activated on 10 to 20 peak days, typically between noon and 9 PM, so your house will cool back down at night.

Max Savings Program - This program saves you a little more money, and the temperature in your home may go up a little more, but no more than 9° F.

You can sign up for EasyGreen if you have central air conditioning and you are the homeowner. You can also sign up if you have authorization from the homeowner. You must reside in a targeted area and live in a single family home or condominium. Evaporative coolers or window/wall mounted units are not eligible. This program is designed to reduce the level of energy needed on the hottest days of the year. The program uses smart grid technology and supports the New Jersey Energy Master Plan. The program is approved by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
